The Narrowest Townhouse in New York City
Built in the 19th century, the Millay House sits at 75 1/2 Bedford Street. It is a historic townhouse that also happens to be the narrowest in New York City. The West Village home is named for Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Edna St. Vincent Millay, who lived there in the 1920s. The property has also housed Cary Grant and John Barrymore, who stayed there while working at the nearby Cherry Lane Theater. Recently renovated, it offers three bedrooms and two baths spread over three floors, as well as a finished lower level that serves as a fourth bedroom for guests with its own Calacatta marble bathroom and a 150-square-foot garden off the kitchen.
