The German town of Glashutte is known around the world for its rich watchmaking history, and Muhle-Glashutte is the only manufacturer that remains family-owned. They've honed their craft since 1869 and recently unveiled the Sea-Timer BlackMotion at Baselworld in Switzerland this year. Nearly impossible to find (especially online) since the announcement, the versatile sports watch features a stainless steel case that is coated with layers of titanium carbide for a black as night appearance and a thick, resistant exterior built to stand up to the most active lifestyles. The resilient theme continues via 2.5mm thick double anti-glare sapphire crystal, which protects the black dial, luminous hands, and date window. A bi-directional bezel is paired with an SW 200-1 automatic movement which is visible through the exhibition case back, providing a view of Muehle's anniversary rotor which commemorates the 150-year heritage of the company. Each watch is finished with a black textile strap and a black DLC-coated stainless steel pin buckle.
