NASA Photography Auction

Entitled Voyage to Another World: The Victor Martin-Malburet Photograph Collection, Christie's salutes the golden age of space exploration with a 700 lot auction. The sale includes 2,400 rare and previously unreleased original photographs taken by astronauts during missions. At the time, specialists at NASA, Hasselblad, Kodak, and Zeiss as well as Life and National Geographic photographers instructed the astronauts to capture the surreal images to share with the rest of the world. Curated by Victor Martin-Malburet over 15 years, the selection includes iconic pictures like the first photograph of the dark side of the Moon taken in 1959, the first U.S. spacewalk in 1965, and the first space selfie take by Buzz Aldrin in 1966. The sale will end on November 11th.
