Nike x Readymade Blazer Mid Sneaker
The first pair of shoes Readymade founder Yuta Hosokawa ever bought were Nikes; he credits them with getting him interested in fashion. Now he and his team have transformed Nike's earliest basketball shoe. Their take on the Blazer Mid has a thinner, longer Swoosh reminiscent of the 1971 version and a multi-layer upper with spotted foam, leather side panels, and multiple sets of laces. The textured midsole was modeled from clay and helps balance the side profile, while the rubber outsole is made with about 15 percent Nike Grind, a mix of recycled manufacturing scraps and worn-out shoes. Available February 27 on SNKRS, at NikeLab MA5 and DSM Ginza in Tokyo, and at select READYMADE retail locations.
