Omega Speedmaster White Dial Watch
During its development in 1957, Omega's designers gave the Speedmaster a black dial with white markings to maximize legibility. The opposite colorway has the same result. This new reference sees its hands and markers turn black while the stepped dial is given a white glossy lacquered finish — a first for the line. Honoring its role in space exploration, the colors also recall the spacesuits worn during EVAs and the dial of the ALASKA 1 prototype; splashes of red on the Speedmaster logo and seconds hand tip are inspired by the Commander stripes on astronaut suits. The 42mm stainless steel case is paired with a black anodized aluminum bezel with the Dot over Ninety on the tach scale. Powered by the manually-wound Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861 movement visible through the exhibition caseback, the watch sits on one of three straps: a five-link stainless steel bracelet, a black micro-perforated leather strap with red and white stitching, or an anti-bacterial rubber strap.
