Paul Newman's Stuntman Rolex Watches

Stan Barrett is a retired Hollywood stuntman known for his work with Paul Newman. The pair bonded over cars and racing during their time spent together on set, leading to a 40-year friendship. Before the daredevil attempted to break the land speed record in the Budweiser Rocket, the actor gifted him two watches — a stainless steel GMT-Master 'Pepsi' and a stainless steel Reference 6262 Daytona — both of which he wore on his left wrist during the event. The former was engraved with "Stan Barrett 739 MPH Mach 1.0206 12-17-79." after hitting 739.66 mph. Both watches, along with a yellow gold GMT Reference 1675 gifted to him from Anheuser-Busch, will be auctioned by Sotheby's on December 9, 2022, during a live auction in New York.
