Porsche 911 Dakar Coupe
The Porsche 911 Dakar was officially revealed at the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show and promises to be what enthusiasts have been begging for — a fully factory-built 911 safari. The 911 Dakar comes with a 480 horsepower, twin-turbo flat-six, all-wheel-drive, and 50mm more ride height than the standard Carrera. A lift system can raise the car an extra 30mm when necessary. Pirelli developed its Scorpion All Terrain Plus tires specifically for the 911 Dakar, offering a blend of on and off-road performance, with summer or winter tires available as an option. The standard transmission is the eight-speed PDK, allowing for 0-60 sprints of 3.4 seconds, with top speed limited to 150 MPH. Rear-wheel steering, 911 GT3 motor mounts, and PDCC roll stabilization combine with two new driving modes to get the most out of the Dakar's off-road capabilities. The rear seat has been removed along with lightweight glass and a CFRP frunk lid to reduce weight. A roof rack is available with integrated LED lighting. While the probability of any production 911 Dakar touching a surface more challenging than a gravel driveway is near zero, Porsche has again proved that the 911 is the most versatile sports car in history.
