Porsche 917 Prototype Engine Print

Engineered by the late Hans Mezger for the 1970 Porsche 917 Prototype, the "Mezger 16" is a triumph of engineering, even if it never made it to the track. The 16-cylinder engine was developed with an eye on increasing the power of Porsche's racing cars to match the output of Can-Am championship competitors. With a displacement of 6.6L it created an impressive 740hp, but due to its weight — 80kg heavier than the existing 12-cylinder — and demand for a longer wheelbase, it was never adopted. This fully CGI still celebrates this legendary 16-cylinder powerplant, intricately modeled in 3D by the team at INK's London studio. Printed on high-quality paper stock at INK's London studio, and custom framed using acid free mats and backing, along with gallery-quality anti-UV acrylic.
