Porsche Mission X Concept

Porsche had something special on display at its "75 Years of Porsche Sports Cars" event in Atlanta. Mission X, a battery-electric hypercar, broke cover as possibly the next Nurburgring record-breaking vehicle to come from Stuttgart since the unrestricted 919. As a concept, Porsche didn't offer many details about the Mission X, except that if it were to enter production, it would be the fastest road-legal car to lap the Nordschleife — a record currently held by fellow German rivals Mercedes with the Mercedes One. The Mission X draws heavily from the Le Mans prototype racers, with doors hinged at the A-pillar and roof that open forwards and up, and a long, low silhouette that recalls Porsche race cars like the 962. The interior is just as stylish as the exterior, with different colored seats for the driver and passenger and a square steering wheel. The Mission X also is the first car to wear the updated version of the Porsche crest. While it is a concept, the Mission X points to an all-electric future for the German maker.
