Porsche Type 993 911 Speedster Sonderwunsch

There is no shortage of third-party shops that can build the vintage Porsche of your dreams. But why use someone else when you can go to Porsche itself? Italian architect and industrial designer Luca Trazzi wanted a 993-generation Speedster, something Porsche never put into regular production — although two others have been built by Porsche as one-offs similar to the example here. Trazzi went to the Sonderwunsch team at Porsche for this Speedster, the final result of a three-year-long project. The car started life as a 1994 911 Cabriolet and remains mechanically true to the 993. The flat-six has been upgraded to the 3.8-liter specification fitted to the 993 Carrera RS, making around 300 horsepower. Visually, all the hallmarks of the Speedster are here, with a shortened windshield, and the cowling hump in place of the rear seats. This Speedster made its debut at the 2024 Monterey Car Week.
