Qvest Hotel
Combining a love for contemporary photography and mid-century furniture, Editor-in-Chief Michael Kaune has transformed a 1897 Cologne building into the Qvest Hotel. The former archive of the city retains its neo-Gothic architecture, acting as a dramatic backdrop to a curated collection of modern furniture and art pieces, which can also be purchased at the hotel shop. Each of the 34 rooms is unique in layout and decor and feature a mix of vintage and new pieces, original photographs, and Parisian Metro tiles, while the suites showcase the structure's historic details with vaulted ceilings, original stucco, and lancet windows. In lieu of a television, guests can get their entertainment from an in-room library offering a collection of literature highlighting art, design, and fashion.
