Rivian Second-Generation R1T & R1S
The second generation of Rivian's truck and SUV lineup has arrived, with all the changes occurring under the skin. The biggest change comes with the addition of Tri-Motor and Dual-Motor configurations, with the more efficient motors designed, engineered, and manufactured in-house. The Tri-Motor makes 850 horsepower with two motors at the rear and one on the front axle with an estimated range of 380 miles. The Quad-Motor adds an additional motor at the front, with 1,025 horsepower and 1,198 lb-ft of torque in Launch Mode. Both the three and four-motor versions post sub-three second 0-60 times. Rivian has backed off on the R1T's more sport-tuned suspension feel, with a more compliant setup for a smoother ride. Rivian will continue to offer three battery sizes, with the Large and Max sizes delivering 330 and 420 miles respectively. The new R1T starts at $69,000 and the R1S $75,000. Dual-Motor versions are available now, with the Tri Max coming in late summer 2024 and the Quad Max following later.
