It looks like a shark. More importantly, it moves like a shark. Those attributes allow the RoboShark to get closer to underwater creatures, letting researchers observe aquatic life in a more natural state. It has an automatic obstacle avoidance system and can hit speeds of 10 knots despite weighing in at roughly 120 pounds and measuring nearly six feet long. It can also be used at distances up to a mile and a half and at depths approaching 1,000 feet, and is fully customizable, letting it carry nearly any camera, communication, or sensor rig necessary.
