Rolex Ref 6239 Paul Newman Tropical Daytona Watch
Produced from roughly 1963 to 1969, the Rolex Daytona Reference 6239 is perhaps the most sought-after vintage Rolex model. Even more rare are examples sporting an "exotic" dial — aka the Paul Newman — with Art Deco numerals and a contrasting outer minute track. And rarer still are examples where the black subdials and outer track have aged to a tropical brown. This specific example is among the latter, and is in exquisite shape for its age. Its 36mm stainless steel case appears to be unpolished, and is paired with a similarly unpolished American-made oval link Rolex bracelet made by JB Champion; its serial number is very close to Paul Newman's own Paul Newman Daytona that sold for $17.8 million USD in 2018, making it a highly desirable addition to any collection.
