Rolls-Royce Hybrid Aircraft Concept
It won't be built commercially by Rolls-Royce — they only make engines, with the Motorcars being a separate business — but this Hybrid Vertical Takeoff and Landing "Air Taxi" is still closer to production than you might think. Its proven M250 engine has been modified to run an electric generator, supplying power to four propellers on the wings and two on the rear. The wings rotate to face upwards for takeoff and landing, then rotate and stash their propellers away during flight. It seats up to five passengers and can travel at speeds of 250 mph for roughly 500 miles.
