Ron del Barrilito Three Stars Puerto Rican Rum
Ron del Barrilito is Puerto Rico's oldest rum brand still being made, produced since 1880 by the Fernández family on Bayamón's Hacienda Santa Ana. Three Stars is a blend of rums aged from six to 10 years, resting in white oak casks that once held Oloroso sherry from Jerez, Spain. Before the rum goes into those casks, a share of it steeps in dried fruits and spices, and its dark amber color comes naturally from aging, with no added sugar, caramel coloring or flavorings. Rainfall is the only water used. The result is medium-bodied at 86 proof, with almond, vanilla, raisin and banana aromas over a woody backbone and a smoky finish. Each bottle is hand-labeled and hand-packed.
