Scott Carpenter's Gold Omega Speedmaster

Awarded to American astronauts at a dinner in 1969, Omega's "Tribute to Astronauts" Speedmasters are arguably the most sought-after of the entire line. This specific model was given to Project Mercury astronaut Scott Carpenter, and is now being offered for sale. Reference reference 145.022-69 BA, its gold case and matching bracelet are in original, unpolished condition, with the inscription "to mark man's conquest of space with time, through time, on time", as well as "ASTRONAUT M. SCOTT CARPENTER" and "MERCURY 7" appearing on the caseback. One of only thirty such references in existence, it's an amazing piece of horological and Space Race history.
