Sealed Super Mario Bros. 3 Cartridge

Looks like someone was extra nice this year because they are now the proud owners of a Sealed Super Mario Bros. 3 Cartridge. The rare 1990's video game went up for auction last week with a starting bid of $62,500 and had 20 bidders battling it out. It ultimately sold for $156,000, beating the original Super Mario Bros. from 1985 — which set the back record in July — for the world's most expensive video game. The record-setting price wasn't just the result of the game's pristine condition but also the packaging. The title is laid out to the left, covering one of Mario's gloves which indicates this copy is one of the earliest in the Super Mario Bros. 3 production history.
