Segway SuperScooter GT Series

Segway's rebirth continues with the Indiegogo launch of the SuperScooter GT — a powerful scooter capable of 43 MPH in GT2 trim. The base GT1 model uses a rear hub motor making 1,4000 watts, good for a 37 MPH top speed, and powered by a 1kWh battery mounted under the deck. Range is listed at 43 miles, although that will vary with how twist-happy a rider's throttle hand gets. Both GT models use an aircraft-grade aluminum frame, suspension with 15 levels of adjustment, and hydraulic disc brakes front and rear, marking the models as aimed at adventurous types more than daily commuters. The GT2 uses dual 1,5000-watt hub motors and a 1.5kWh battery, along with a dynamic traction control system and the aforementioned higher performance.
