Set on the edge of Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park, Singita's latest accommodation, the Kwitonda Lodge and Kataza House, is an ecotourism gem. It occupies 178 acres, across which eight suites and the four-suit Kataza villa are spread. The spaces are constructed with locally-sourced materials like volcanic rock, woven ceilings, and hand-fired brickwork. The resulting palette blends in well with its surroundings, while indoor-outdoor spaces help encourage a connection with nature. On-site herb and fruit gardens lend a farm-to-table approach to the mostly vegetable-based menu, and adventurous guests can visit the gear room for technical items and clothing before heading out on a gorilla-watching trek.
