Sony 1000X THE COLLEXION Headphones
Grammy-winning mastering engineers shaped the tuning of the 1000X THE COLLEXION, Sony's tenth-anniversary build on the series that became the default headphone for long-haul flights. The brief was to stay faithful to what the artist intended rather than impose a house sound, and a new carbon composite dome driver delivers on it, tightening instrument-to-vocal separation and widening the soundstage past any previous 1000X. It's also the first headphone to run DSEE Ultimate, Sony's Edge-AI upscaling that restores lost detail to compressed streaming audio in real time. The headband features individually hand-finished metal accents in a matte sandblasted texture with hand-polished gloss contrast, and the earcup pads use a vegan leather two years in development, soft and stretchable enough to conform to most heads without added pressure. Noise canceling runs through the same 12-microphone Adaptive NC Optimizer as the WH-1000XM6, with up to 24 hours of battery life under ANC. Available in Platinum and Black.
