Steve McQueen's 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4
Outside of an illustrious racing history, provenance doesn't get much better than being owned by film star, gentleman racer, and all-things-wheeled enthusiast Steve McQueen — even for a car as desirable as this 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4. Said to have been delivered new to McQueen on the set of Bullitt in gold metallic paint, McQueen had the car repainted a proper Chianti Red under his ownership. McQueen would go on to sell the car four years later, with the Ferrari ending up in the hands of a retired racing driver in Australia in the 2000s. Ferrari Classiche restored the car to McQueen's specs over three years from 2010 to 2013, with it having been on display at Museo Ferrari in Maranello and the Petersen Automotive Museum in California over the years since. This Ferrari will go to auction at RM Sotheby's Monterey event in August.
