Swatch Mission to the Moon 1969 Watch

Swatch melted down OMEGA spare parts dating back to 1969 to produce the gold used on this watch, a material now classified as OMEGA's 18K Moonshine Gold. The tribute traces to the gold Speedmaster OMEGA built that same year to mark Apollo 11's landing on the Moon. The dial itself uses a vertically brushed satin finish set against a black Bioceramic bezel, its tachymeter scale rendered in gold. Applied hour markers get a beveled edge and black lacquer fill, and the typography reproduces OMEGA's original 1969 lettering. The gold components alone weigh 11 grams, a number chosen to match the mission itself. Production is capped at 1,969 individually numbered pieces, each sold only through Swatch's ESTA application process rather than over the counter. The watch doesn't just reference 1969, part of it was literally forged that year.
