TAG Heuer Monza Flyback Chronograph Carbon
Heuer built the original Monza on a budget in 1976, right as the quartz crisis was gutting Swiss watchmaking, borrowing its case from the existing Carrera 1153 and coating the whole thing in black to hide the cheaper metal underneath. It nearly launched as the Modena, after Ferrari's hometown, before Heuer settled on naming it after the racetrack where Niki Lauda clinched Ferrari's first drivers' title since 1964. Fifty years later, TAG Heuer rebuilt it as a genuine flagship: a 42mm forged carbon case, bezel, and crown, each one naturally marbled, so no two look quite the same, running on the in-house TH20-12, a COSC-certified flyback chronograph with a column wheel, vertical clutch, and 80-hour power reserve. The dial keeps the original's black-on-black-with-red palette and dual tachymeter/pulsometer flange, though the date and running-seconds positions are swapped from the vintage layout. It's limited to 500 pieces.
