Technics SL-1210GAE Turntable
Founded in 1965, Technics has been a leader in hi-fi equipment for decades. To celebrate its 55th anniversary, the Japanese company is releasing a special edition turntable that comes from the SL-1200 family. The SL-1210GAE follows the limited edition SL-1200GAE from 2016 and features an all-black design with a 10mm-thick aluminum top panel, anodized brushed finish, and is powered by a coreless direct-drive motor. The buttons and tonearm are also blacked-out, the latter of which is outfitted with a JT-1210 moving magnet cartridge that was specifically tuned by a joint team of engineers from Technics and Nagaoka. Other limited features for the table include a special badge with an inscribed serial number, upgraded insulation, and an on/off switch for the strobe. Limited to 1,000 units, it's slated to hit the market next month.
