Henry McCarty, better known as Billy The Kid, was a gunslinger who is said to have killed eight men. The Wild West legend was just 21 when he died when Sheriff Pat Garrett shot him in the chest in his bedroom in Fort Sumner, New Mexico in 1881. Part of a private collection for years, the Colt single-action Army revolver used to take down The Kid is up for auction on August 27th courtesy of Bonhams and is expected to sell for more than $3 million.
