Thomas Kinkade's Untitled (Toilet Paper)
The self-described "Painter of Light", Thomas Kinkade is best known for his upbeat images of lighthouses, dolphins, and other sickeningly serene scenes. As a break from this, his 1978 work Untitled (Toilet Paper) stands out. Locked away from public view for decades, the surprisingly flat 8" x 10" work is being released by The Kinkade Family Foundation, with 100% of the net proceeds going to support art galleries most impacted by COVID-19. It's available in a limited edition of 100 prints, hand-retouched by his daughter Winsor Kinkade and carefully placed in a classic gold frame, as an open, unframed edition of archival inkjet on canvas prints, and as a 100-piece puzzle.
