Toyota Baby Lunar Cruiser

Toyota founded CALTY Design Research in 1973 as the American branch of its global design network and the first major design studio on the West Coast. CALTY launched its first production car in 1978 with the second-generation Celica and has gone on to design everything from concepts to the 2024 Tacoma. For its 50-year anniversary, CALTY has unveiled the Baby Lunar Cruiser, a concept EV that takes cues from the FJ40 Land Cruiser and projects like the JAXA Lunar Cruiser. CALTY designed the Baby Lunar Cruiser to operate its four in-wheel electric motors with dual joysticks, with a panoramic glass front and augmented reality display. The Toyota script and a white roof are nods to the FJ40. Airless tires and a LIDAR and radar system give the Baby Lunar Cruiser the tech to excursions anywhere, on-planet or off.
