Toyota GR Kart Entry-Level Racer
Akio Toyoda wants grassroots racing to be as easy to pick up as baseball or soccer, and the GR KART is Toyota's attempt to remove the actual obstacles that keep most families from owning one. The engine and fuel system were engineered specifically so the 215cc kart can stand upright without leaking gas or oil, letting it slide straight into a Toyota Noah or Voxy minivan without disassembly, solving the storage problem that usually keeps a kart tied to a garage or a trailer. A tilting steering wheel and adjustable pedals let the same chassis fit drivers from 4-foot-5 to 6-foot-1, so one kart can be shared across a family rather than requiring a different size for each person. Toyota also swapped the usual chain drive for a belt system with an automatic tensioner, cutting out the greasy maintenance that comes with a traditional kart. Every purchase includes a digital passport that grants immediate track access without a separate racing license, and the kart itself weighs 183 pounds.
