Toyota Tacoma H2-Overlander Concept
While pure electric vehicles have made it to market first, that doesn't mean automakers have given up on hydrogen fuel cell technology. The Toyota Tacoma H2-Overlander Concept, on display at the 2025 SEMA show, is a perfect example. It combines a second-generation Toyota Mirai fuel cell stack and three hydrogen tanks housed within its frame with a 24.9-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, delivering the best of both worlds. The combo powers a pair of electric motors making 547 horsepower, and can also power a home or even charge two all-electric vehicles via a dual NEMA 14-50 outlets. Other highlights include a TRD billet long-travel suspension with heavy-duty Fox 2.5 Performance Elite Series shocks, a custom cooling system, and the patent-pending TRD exhaust water recovery system, which captures and filters the water exhaust produced by the hydrogen fuel cell stack and repurposes it for washing and showering.
