The Transportation Security Administration utilizes dogs in many capacities. Some of them, for whatever reason, don't make the cut for government work. Those dogs, as well as those retired from service, are entered into the TSA Canine Adoption Program. Dogs available through the program are crate-trained, highly active, and need a loving home. As you'd expect from any TSA-related service, you have to go through a screening process, but once you're approved, they'll match you with a dog. From there, you'll need to travel to San Antonio, TX with a leash, collar and appropriate-sized crate, meet your pooch, and head home, new family member in tow.
