Ulysse Nardin UFO Table Clock

Ulysse Nardin has constructed ultra-accurate marine chronometers since its founding in 1846. Ulysse Nardin pioneered the use of gimbals to counteract the rocking of ships at sea, which makes the UFO table clock so unique — the base features weights that allow the chronometer to rock like the ocean. The 16-pound clock can sway up to 60 degrees without falling over or affecting timekeeping. Underneath a hand-blown glass dome is the UN-902 movement, with six large barrels operating at 0.5Hz, giving the UFO a power reserve of one year. This UFO was made especially for Christie's November 6th Only Watch auction, where it sold for over $400,000 to aid in Duchenne muscular dystrophy research.
