Bristol, UK-based Vertical Aerospace is hardly the only company developing a vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. They're just more realistic about it. Founded by a former F1 team owner and loaded with talent from Airbus, Boeing, Rolls-Royce, Martin Jet Pack, and General Electric, the company has already completed an unmanned test flight of a full-scale vehicle. The company is currently working towards a piloted intercity air taxi service, which it aims to have up and running by 2022.
