Almost five weeks into the 2020 season, COVID shut down the XFL and forced it into bankruptcy. In August, Dwayne Johnson, his business partner, and RedBird Capital bought the league before it went up for auction. Today, The Rock announced that a new season will kickoff in the spring of 2022.
