To celebrate one of their most important collections, Oris is releasing a special edition of the iconic Big Crown Pointer Date watch. The new timepiece pays homage to its predecessors, which was first released in 1938 with an oversized crown so glove-wearing pilots could make easy adjustments. The anniversary edition features a 40mm bronze case with a screw down case back that proudly displays the Oris 754 automatic movement. The case promises to develop a unique patina over time which complements the dark green dial, complete with lumed hands and indices and a signature red-tipped central pointer hand to indicate the date. It's finished with a brown leather strap and is a fitting tribute to the Swiss company's design heritage and rich mechanical watchmaking history.
