Muhammed Ali: In Memoriam
The Greatest is gone. Few people, whether politicians, scientists, or social activists, have left such an indelible stamp on a society as Muhammed Ali. Brash and with the skills to back up his words in the ring, Ali challenged nearly every social norm and seat of authority in the United States during his career: His conversion to Islam, refusal to enter the Vietnam draft, the civil rights movement, and even causing friction within the black community itself in the build up to his match with Joe Frazier. He was a boxer, but came to stand for something infinitely larger than a boxing ring.
