The bombs were designed by the director of the Los Alamos Laboratory, Robert Oppenheimer, slating him in history as "the father of the atomic bomb." Using the biography American Prometheus by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin, Christopher Nolan recounts the life and career of the theoretical physicist during his development of the nuclear warhead. Starring Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, and Rami Malek, Oppenheimer will go to theaters on July 21, 2023.
