Her and screenwriter Mark Boal will team up for the third time for a retelling of the 12th Street riot that led to 43 deaths, 1,189 injuries, and over 7,200 arrests. Starring John Boyega, the film is set to be released on the 50th anniversary of the riots, August 4, 2017.
