In 2015, 1,000 musicians formed the biggest rock bang on Earth and covered "Learn To Fly" to coax Dave Grohl into playing in Cesena, Italy. The stunt worked, and the Foo Fighters held a concert in the town. Since then, they've covered Nirvana, Oasis, and The Ramones, but their latest performance has a special meaning. The Rockin'1000 gathered in Paris to play another Foo Fighters song, "My Hero," in honor of the band's drummer Taylor Hawkins.
Wrapped in wit, charm, intelligence, and humor, David Bowie was the man that spawned a thousand genres and wildly expanded what pop music was and could be. Directed by Brett Morgen, Moonage Daydream attempts the impossible — distilling the prolific output of Bowie into a 140-minute feverish freakout; part documentary and part experience. Blessed by Bowie's estate, Moonage Daydream contains never-before-seen archival footage and will be screened at the 2022 Cannes FIlm Festival with a wider release later this year.
