The Story of the McBarge

In 1986, Vancouver, British Columbia, hosted the World Exposition on Transportation and Communication, or commonly known as Expo 86. With transportation being one of the themes, McDonald's got in on the event with a floating restaurant called the Friendship 500. But a combination of local government, budgets, and too-big dreams lead to the McBarge being one of the most unique abandoned spaces in North America. Abandoned looks at the history and many attempted redemptions of the McBarge and its current state of decay.
