The Wonder Years is back to show the 1960s from a different perspective. The reboot will follow the coming-of-age story of Dean, a 12-year old African-American boy growing up in Montgomery, Alabama. Elisha "EJ" Williams stars as a young Dean while Don Cheadle provides the narration. Created by Saladin Patterson and directed by Fred Savage, the series will return to ABC later this year.

The film will follow the origin story of the classic character, starting with his induction into the ancient Japanese clan called the Arashikage.
