Marvel is taking a u-turn from superheroes to classic horror with Werewolf by Night. Inspired by classic horror films of the '30s and '40s, the black and white movie shows a group of people trapped for a night in a complex with a werewolf — presumably Jack Russell, the focus of the comic book series. Werewolf By Night comes to Disney+ October 7, 2022.
Samuel L. Jackson reprises his role in a new miniseries for Disney+. The six episodes will continue Phase 5 and follow S.H.I.E.L.D. agents after shapeshifting aliens known as the Skrulls land on Earth. Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, and Don Cheadle return to the franchise, while Emilia Clarke and Olivia Coleman join the MCU. Secret Invasion premieres in early 2023.
Assassin's Creed is going back to its roots in one last release before it becomes a live-service game. Assassin's Creed Mirage ditches the open-world framework and goes back to the game's stealth origins. Players will take on the character of Basim Ibn Ishaq in 9th-century Baghdad, starting as a street thief who's rescued by Roshan, a Persian ex-slave and mentor. From there, the choice to follow or forget the Hidden Path is up to the player in what looks to be a sprawling RPG. Assassin's Creed Mirage is slated for release sometime in 2023.
