Volkswagen Golf R 333 LE
How times have changed. The Volkswagen Golf was the original hot hatch, before being joined by the likes of the Honda Civic in its various guises and upstarts like the Ford Focus. While "hot hatch" doesn't mean relatively mild power levels and performance numbers anymore, the new Golf R 333 LE shows how much the hatch has grown. A two-liter turbocharged inline-four makes 328 horsepower (or 333PS, hence the name), enough to push the Golf from 0-62 in just 4.6 seconds. A special anti-lag system pre-spools the turbo for near-instantaneous power, used by lifting and reapplying the throttle. The action also lets the driver roleplay as their favorite WRC racer, with a cacophony of pops and bangs. The all-wheel-drive system comes with R-Performance Torque Vectoring with Vehicle Dynamics Manager and an Akrapovič titanium-tipped exhaust system. The Lime Yellow Metallic hatch with black 19-inch Estoril rims will be limited to 333 units worldwide.
