Woolly Mammoth Meatball
The name suggests that this meatball is oversized. While it's not tiny, the Mammoth Meatball is named as such because it's made using woolly mammoth DNA. Experimental food collective Forged by Vow blended the mammoth DNA with that of the African elephant — the mammoth's closest living relative — then grew the cultured meat in a lab, forming it into a familiar spherical shape. The company hopes that the meatball, gifted to the Rijksmuseum Boerhaave in the Netherlands, will spark conversation about the connection between meat consumption and climate change.
