1962 Emory Special Roadster
Emory's Porsche 356 outlaws are almost as sought after as the originals. The proof is in the wait, which stands at about two years as of this writing. This means each Emory is as unique as its owner, with each one a custom creation in the truest sense of the word. The 1962 356 pictured here takes Emory's signature stripped-down look and combines it with classic styling cues of Porsche race cars of the era. Low-profile fender-mounted mirrors and the removal of any brightwork pair perfectly with the gunmetal paint. The interior sports aluminum racing seats trimmed in black and brown leather, minimal gauges, and nothing but an unbroken expanse of steel for the dash. The real magic is tucked into the rear, where the Emory-Rothsport flat-four resides. The wait might be long, but every minute is absolutely worth it.
