1976 Mercedes-Benz Unimog 416 Doka 4×4
What this Mercedes-Benz Unimog lacks in practicality it makes up for in presence. Originally designed as a hybrid between a tractor and truck in 1948, this 1976 Unimog 416 has gotten a slew of upgrades to turn it into an imposing overlander while keeping its trademark German charm. A turbocharged 5.7-liter inline-six diesel drives all four wheels through manual gearbox with six main gears, six intermediate gears, and two crawler gears — a total of 20 forward speeds. Three locking differentials, a lift kit, and massive offroad tires give the truck impressive suspension articulation and capability limited only by the size of the trail. A custom steel dump bed with rally raid-style spare tire carrier, front bumper with winch, and a suite of upgraded creature comforts make for one of the most unique four-by-fours on the market.
