1988 Porsche 911 RSR-Style Backdate
No, it isn't a real RSR — that's mentioned upfront. What it is, however, is a faithful-in-spirit reproduction that can be driven. Starting with a 1988 911, this RSR tribute features a close-ratio G50 transaxle and a custom 316 horsepower 3.25-liter flat-six built by Richard Chamberlain. The bodywork is steel, "backdated" to '70s RSR specs, with Fuchs-style Braid alloy wheels. Inside is a fresh interior lined in leather, Alcantara, and Pepita houndstooth with grey square weave carpeting. The four-year restoration was completed in 2023, with the car now up for auction on Collecting Cars.
