1993 Bugatti EB110 Super Sport Prototype
The reincarnated Bugatti's first model, the EB100, landed like a thunderbolt on the auto-loving public in 1991. The result of Ferrari dealer and entrepreneur Romano Artioli's vision, the new Bugatti and its EB110 followed in the footsteps of Bugatti's performance past. Six months after the EB110 debuted, the EB110 Super Sport was introduced at the 1992 Geneva Motor Show. 330 pounds lighter and with a more powerful V12 making 603 horsepower, the Super Sport was the ultimate version of the EB110. Chassis PCD39006, pictured here, is the second of two Super Sport prototypes and one of just 30 total. The car is equipped with dual fuel tanks with a single fill system, carbon fiber engine lid, and a revised gear selector — features not seen on other prototypes. Showing just 2,192 miles, the car will go to auction at RM Sotheby's New York event on December 8th.
