2012 Sea Lion Amphibious Prototype Car

Designed and built by Marc Witt and SeaRoader Aquatic, this Sea Lion Amphibious Prototype was said to be, in 2012, the world's fastest amphibious car. It's powered by a Mazda 13B 1.3L rotary engine with a body made from CNC-milled and TIG-welded 5052 aluminum panels with a fused monocoque in the middle. The front wheels suck up into the wheel wells via hydraulics in the water, while a modified Berkeley 12 JC jet drive pump provides propulsion and a fighter jet-style stick is used for control. As it comes from the Larry Klairmont Museum Collection, it's unknown, and perhaps unlikely, to be in working condition, but will come up for auction via Mecum on September 20th.
