2019 BMW i8 Roadster

BMW's sporty flagship hybrid is getting a few upgrades — and an all-new body style. The BMW i8 Roadster uses a plug-in hybrid powertrain similar to the prior hardtop, only updated with more capacity, power, and range. Horsepower is up 12, pure-electric range is now 33 miles, and it can now hit 65 mph without using the petrol motor, up from a paltry 43 in the prior model. Its power soft-top can raise or lower in under 16 seconds and stows away in a storage area occupied by the rear seats in the coupe. Speaking of which, it also receives the performance upgrades, as well as new interior and wheel options, and coupe-specific badging.
